The story begins when he started singing in films and studio albums. Then he soon became the most commercially successful and popular artist to have worked in the Maldivian music industry. In 2002, he announced that he would leave music temporarily. Three years later, he said that he had quit music and regretted his involvement in it. Despite leaving the music industry, he sings Islamic devotional songs and publishes them on his own channel. The channel is dedicated to educating and spreading awareness of Islamic principles among the people of the Maldives.
